I recently applied for the IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card for my oldest son. If you haven’t applied for a card yet, you will be happy to know it was a simple process that took about 5 minutes.

I clicked on the link for the application and selected that I was filling out the form for my son. I filled out the basic information before adding proof of my son's disability.

You can submit proof via the following options:

  • Statement from a healthcare provider

  • Educational support plan

  • Individualized Education Plan

  • Documentation from a governmental entity

You can redact any personal information that is not necessary for the approval process.

Once all the tabs were filled out, I clicked the submit button at the bottom of the application. Approval isn’t always immediate, so do not be surprised if you download a card that has a temporary status. That status will be updated once your application has been approved.

I simply show this card to the staff at attractions we visit to see which accommodations are available for my son. You can either print the card or access it through the IBCCES Accessibility Card app.

It is important to note that this card is valid for 12 months and will need to be renewed.

This is the simple way for Applying for the IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card!
