Today, I am going to share why Nickelodeon Resorts and Beaches Resorts are perfect for autistic families like yours. I won’t be able to share everything about each resort, but I will give you the most important information. This will allow you to really think about how an all-inclusive resort vacation would work for your child with autism.
Beaches Resorts
Beaches Resorts are all-inclusive resorts that are perfect for families. You will find these autism-friendly resorts in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos. Basically, you get your Caribbean vacation in a family-friendly, and autism-friendly, setting.
When it comes to autism awareness at Beaches Resorts, you will be thrilled to know they were the first resort company to obtain Autism Certification. Their staff has undergone training that ensures they know how to work with autistic families like yours.
While the staff has received specialized training, the childcare staff receives additional training. This is to ensure your autistic child is in excellent hands when they are not with you. Some of this training includes areas of sensory awareness, autism overview, program development, social skills, communication, and emotional awareness.
The Kids Camps at Beaches Resorts are considered Advanced Certified Autism Centers. This means they offer age-specific programs for kids of all ages, even those children who have autism. You will love knowing your children are being cared for by qualified staff so that you can get a little time together alone with your partner. This is an excellent time to go to the spa, grab a drink, or eat a meal without interruptions. You know, get that romance in while you can.
One of the best parts about the Kids Camps at Beaches Resorts is they welcomed Sesame Street as their partner. Julia is one of the Sesame Street muppets. She is 4 years old and has autism. Julia welcomes every family to different activities at the camps. She is even available for character experiences.
When it comes to dining at Beaches Resorts, you have numerous restaurants to choose from. They are all included in the price you pay for your stay too. You can easily chat with the Culinary Concierge at the Beaches Resort you are staying at. They can create custom menus that work within the dietary restrictions your autistic child may have. Entertainment is available every night at Beaches Resorts. Younger kids can attend age-appropriate stage shows. Teenagers can dance the night away at Liquid at Beaches or relax at the Port Royal Arcade. Or at least spend time there until it’s curfew time.
Children of all ages will want to get together at the XBOX Play Lounge. They have the best games available and it gives the kids a little time to get their video games fix.
Everyone in your family will love spending time at the Pirates Island Waterpark at each Beaches Resort. These waterparks have swimming pools, waterslides, lazy rivers, water cannons, and more. Your kids will love the kids-only swim-up bar too!

Nickelodeon Resorts
There are two Nickelodeon Resorts. They are located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Riviera Maya, Mexico. These are all-inclusive resorts as well, which means you get almost everything included in your stay. There are always a couple of exceptions, like the spa and certain outside excursions.
The Nickelodeon Resorts are also Autism Certified. The friendly staff will be willing to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as perfect as it can be. You won’t need to worry about walking from one area of the resort to another during your visit. Golf carts driven by staff members are always available. Please take advantage of them and keep everyone in your family happy.
During your visit to Nickelodeon Resorts, you will have the opportunity to do lots of fun activities together as a family. Many of your days might be spent at Nickelodeon Place. This is where you will find multiple games, waterslides, and family-friendly entertainment. Oh, and did I mention the slime? So much slime. Only if you go into the slime area though!
The water playground, named Aqua Nick, is another favorite destination for children. This is where you will find splash pads, waterslides, lazy rivers, and spray grounds.
Dining out is easy at Nickelodeon Resorts. You can choose to dine at any of the restaurants. Children’s favorites are always available, even if they are not on the menu. Plus, the chefs are ready to accommodate those special diets. Let your kids choose something new to try if they want to. They can always order a backup dish if they don’t like it.
And Nickelodeon Resorts has a few amazing beverages you all have to try. The slime smoothies are a kid's favorite. And parents love it when their kids drink good-night-sleep-tight milk.
One of my favorite activities at this resort is meeting all the fun characters. Character Flash strikes can happen at any time. This is when Nickelodeon characters show up without notice. You never know when your kids can meet SpongeBob Squarepants, Dora, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, or a character from PAW Patrol.
